Danger level: Very dangerous. The danger of Tall Trees is unlike the danger in the rest of the Five States. Tall Trees is a dense forest, home to all manner of wild life. It is said that the Great Plains was once a great forest. The woods in those days would have been large enough to offer home many beasts. However, the forest that is left today is small and so the animals are just as dense as the forest they live in, fighting for survival in what is left of their ancient home. And that is where the true danger of Tall Trees lies.

Grizzlies, black bears, cougars, and wolves all roam the small forest. It is rare to trek through the forest without seeing at least two of of these magnificent beasts, sometimes all of them at once! Many adventurers have met their end by not respecting the wilds of Tall Trees. Take this warning wisely least the last thing you see is a grizzly’s gaping maw.
Manzanita Post

A small settlement in the middle of Tall Trees, Manzanita Post is the largest settlement in the region. The Norwegian settlers here offer a few services, such as blacksmithing, but only to people they know. Time will tell if Manzanita Post will grow into something more than a small settlement or be the next Bearclaw Camp.
Aurora Basin

The Aurora Basin is a beautiful lake that is west of Manzanita Post. It feeds into the Lower Montana River, which then feeds Stillwater Creek before flowing into Flat Iron Lake in the east and the San Luis River in the south. The lake offers a scenic fishing experience. An abandoned cabin on the northern end of the lake off can be used as a temporary resting place to those who prefer not to sleep under the stars. Keep in mind that while the cabin may stop predators, it will not stop dishonorable cowpokes.

Bearclaw Camp

All the remains of a failed logging camp, Bearclaw Camp is a symbol of Tall Trees’ defiance in the face of modernization. Or perhaps it’s a symbol of corporate sabotage. Either way, what remains are burned down cabins and meager shelter from the wilds of Tall Trees. However, that shelter is often already in use by grizzlies, cougars, or wolves. It may be in your best interest to just move on.
Nekoti Rock

Nekoti Rock is the northern most feature of Tall Trees. A small, and yet imposing, mountain, Nekoti Rock is home the same wild life you see in the dense forest, so be on your guard at all times! To the adventurer preparing to head north to trek the peaks in Big Valley and beyond, Nekoti Rock is an exhilarating challenge to cull those not up to greater challengers.
