If you would like join the Five States Herald as a reporter, please send your letter of intent to the editor in chief, William Warrington III. The Herald is always looking for new investigators to widen its reach. Freelance writers can write about anything they like from anywhere in the Five States.

Perhaps you do not want to be a part of the Herald, but you have a tip. Then you too should contact the Herald and send your story tip in to the appropriate office, addresses to those offices are found on the back page of every new edition of the Herald. Our investigators will follow any and all good leads.

Writer Application

OOC: Use this form if you want to write for the Herald as your character. After this form we will contact through email. You can write stories as frequently or as infrequently as you like. Additionally, if you would like to write about your character, you can write under any pseudonym you choose.

Investigator Application

OOC: Use this form if you would like to share activities about the Five States, but don’t want to write full stories. This is similar but different from the Tips Form, because you would be coming from the perspective of being an investigator for the Five States Herald, whereas tips are from witnesses. As a result, your character’s name will be referenced in the stories they provide the investigations for. Further, your character finds these stories, whereas in the Tips Form, they are generally the focus of the story.

Tips Form

OOC: Use this form if you would like a story about your character featured. You can either write the story yourself or provide the details in the form of a “tip” and a Herald writer will write up a story. If you choose to write the story yourself, it will be “assigned” to a staff writer unless you provide a name for the writer yourself.

Photographs can be in response to a Herald prompt or just an image you thought a good story could be written about. If you are already submitting a story and have a picture for that, just indicate in the contact form. Regular writers can submit pictures with stories via email and do not need to send photos to this address separately.
